ABOUT
Establishment of Sydney St George 269 (1917)
Sydney St George 269 was inaugurated in 1917, amid a phase of expansion and hope following the Great War. The group was started by a collective of masons who held a dream of constructing a robust and lasting alliance grounded in the tenets of honor, bounty, and fellowship. From its start, the group turned into a pillar of the local district—arranging meetings, aiding philanthropic goals, and nurturing lifelong bonds among its fellows
Mid-1900s: Expansion and Fellowship
Through the mid-twentieth century, Sydney St George 269 saw notable growth and prosperity. The 1960s represented a peak period for Masonry in this region, with vibrant assemblies reflecting not just the vigor of the order, but also its deep integration into the social and communal heart of Sydney. During this era, the group gained fame for its focus on civic help, dedicated coaching, and the steady advancement of ethical and individual growth for all members.
Expansion and Modern Prosperity (1990s–2000s)
During the late 1990s, Sydney St George 269 experienced a surge in membership and activity, necessitating a shift toward more functional, larger spaces. By 1998, the Lodge successfully transitioned its focus to the upper levels, establishing a sophisticated hall and meeting area better suited for its thriving community. By 2000, this growth allowed three active groups to flourish upstairs, creating a self-contained hub that fostered deeper fellowship while honoring our sacred traditions.
Masonry Today and Tomorrow
Currently, Masonry continues to flourish both locally and abroad, with over seven million associates globally. Sydney St George 269 stays dedicated to the enduring ideals that have steered the order for a century—fellowship, bounty, sincerity, and self-improvement. As it nears its next era, the group stands as a celebrated mark of legacy, harmony, and civic aid in Sydney's heart.
